We love to learn about the World Around Us!
Year 5 have been learning about a famous world event which takes place in New Orleans every year; Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras happens on our Pancake Tuesday and for the people of New Orleans it is a very happy festival for them to celebrate. Shops, businesses and schools close so the people can enjoy the bands playing and watch the beautiful floats pass by. The crew on the floats who wear masks throw beads to the crowds. Look at our class picture of us wearing real Mardi Gras beads which Miss Coulter brought home from New Orleans.
