Miss Caithness’ play activity. Wednesday 1st April.
Hi everyone!
Today you will need a box of any size and whatever craft materials you want!
Before we start to play, look at the box you have chosen. Is it a big box? Is it a long box? Can you get inside your box? Can you make sounds on your box by tapping or scraping it?
Boxes are brilliant! Boxes can be whatever you want!
Get your grown up to go onto YouTube and search for the story ‘Not a box’ by Antoinette Portis. Listen to the story.
Now, you need to use your imagination and turn your box into something fabulous! Maybe it’ll turn into a rocket or a tall tower with windows or something else that rabbit didn’t think of!
I got a little help with this activity. I got my 7 year old niece Anya to listen to the story and then I dropped off a box on her door step. She turned her ‘it’s not a box’ into her favourite place with her dog George. When she is taking George out for a walk, he likes to chase the rabbits! So she used the egg box and made some little rabbits to! Anna’s mummy sent me the photograph when she had finished.
Turn your box into something that you can play with and send it to Mrs Dalzell and me on see saw.
Have fun!
