Sharing from the Start - Forest School, week 3
We had a busy session at Forest Schools this week.
We hunted for our woolly worms that we had hidden in the forest in week 1. When we found our worm, we stuck it into a little book that we could take home.
Ciara and Emma talked about all the different birds we might see in the Forest. We looked at pictures of nests and talked about how the eggs were different - colour and size. Ciara held up some birds and we had a go at naming them. She talked about how each bird has different markings and coloured feathers to help distinguish between them. We were given binoculars and we went bird hunting through the forest. We were able to use the laminated sheets to help us identify the birds that we found.
We then talked about how birds build their nests and what materials they would use. In our groups we built a nest for our birds and placed in some eggs.
Another fab week!
