Just before our Hallowe'en break we had a non-uniform day in school. Mr Dougherty kindly agreed to donate some the proceeds of this day to year 2 so that we could pack Shoe Boxes for the Samaritan Purse Christmas appeal. This fitted in nicely with our topic In the Toybox. We packed 26 boxes in total between the 2 classes (13 for girls and 13 for boys). We thought about the needs of the children these boxes will be delivered to and also considered the sorts of things they might like in a toy box eg something to cuddle, to write on and with, to play with, to wear and to keep them clean. We enjoyed packing the boxes and feel proud that we are going to brighten up a child's Christmas morning.
