We have been learning about a World Event.

We love to learn about what happens in the World Around Us!Year 5 have been learning about Mardi Gras which takes place the day before Ash Wednesday (our pancake Tuesday) It is a huge festival for everyone in New Orleans.  Shops, businesses and schools close to celebrate Mardi Gras.  People line the streets, dress up and eat King Cake while watching the beautiful floats and bands pass by. The crew on the floats throw beads to the crowds and the people throwing the beads must wear masks as you are not supposed to know who gives you your beads.  Look at our pictures of us wearing real Mardi Gras beads which Miss Coulter brought home from New Orleans.
